Overplaying the Liberal Hand

When one party achieves secure power in one location, it is interesting to see how that power is handled. The Democrats in control of the U.S. House of Representatives are a good example.

Even before President Trump was inaugurated, the Democrats insisted that he be impeached. It was astonishing to see the naked animus exhibited by Democrat House leadership. The clownish impeachment hearings were so clearly one-sided and unfair, that the Establishment News Media had a tough time determining how to spin the mess that was being broadcast into our homes.

But there is a better microcosm available to judge what Democrats really want in their quest for total control.

As in Texas, densely-populated areas run by Democrats are wielding more and more influence in their respective states' legislatures.

The Democrat Presidential debates brought some of these intentions into sharp focus: "free" healthcare, "free" college, punitive taxes on the "rich," to name a few.

But there was one issue in particular mentioned in the course of Democrat candidates' campaigns that is now starkly in focus in one particular state: Democrat dominated Virginia government going for gun confiscation, the crown jewel of power.

We received an early warning when Robert Francis O’Rourke blurted out, "Hell yeah, we're gonna take your AR-15s and AK-47s!" That statement did two things: 1. It knocked O'Rourke out of contention and, 2. It tipped the Democrats hand of what they really wanted and had managed to keep quiet to that point.

Yes, it is gun confiscation and complete civilian disarmament.

Why can this be said with complete certitude? Look at what is happening in Virginia. The Governor, Dr. Ralph Northam and his Democrat-dominated legislature have pushed for an "Assault Weapon" ban that would include confiscation.

There is no such thing as a "Buy Back". If the government demands your property, regardless of whether or not you are offered money for it, that is confiscation. If you refuse, you will be killed. The killing of guns owners who refuse to give up their arms has already began because of "red flag" laws. This has actually been promoted by Virginia Attorney General Mark "Red" Herring is willing to use whatever force is required to enforce gun confiscation laws, including the use of the National Guard. Herring might want to check with President Trump on that first.

The first battle of the American Revolution was fought over gun control. The British forces marched from Boston to confiscate colonists' weapons, powder and ball on April 19th, 1775. Several riders including Paul Revere and William Dawes rode to warn the public to take up arms against the British. We know the outcome of Lexington Green and Concord Bridge.

Today's riders, warning civilians, are those cities and counties declaring themselves “Second Amendment Sanctuaries”. Taking the cue from cities and counties declaring themselves "sanctuaries" for illegal aliens, Virginia cities and counties in large numbers are declaring themselves "Second Amendment" sanctuaries. And the Liberals in power were quick to denounce. "Null and void," and "can't usurp state law!" spouted from the gun grabbers. Ninety-four Virginia localities have been reported declaring themselves such sanctuaries.

The threat of armed force from leader of Virginia, Governor Northam, is taken very seriously. After all, here is a physician who openly stated that he believes it is perfectly fine to make a baby "comfortable" while it is allowed to die after being born. If these Democrats are willing to kill the most vulnerable among us…

Human nature demonstrates that people predominately like to be left alone and also not bother others. But when there is a perceived threat, the urge is to band together for protection. So, once again, militias are forming all over Virginia. Are they serious? It is reported that many of those joining are recent U.S. Military members and are not to be trifled with.

There is good reason to for apprehension about gun confiscation. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the National Guard accompanied New Orleans police officers as they went house to house confiscating all firearms, thus removing the only protection citizens had against roving looters and rapists.

So yes, it has already happened.

It may only be a matter of time before a Virginia rendition of the Gonzales "Come And Take It" flag is seen flying at county courthouses.

Will the blue "tyranny of the municipalities" turn Texas blue enough so the desires of O'Rourke and his Leftists comrades attempt to disarm the Lone Star State in their march into the darkness of Fascism?

Election Tampering Is Real and Has an Insidious, Moneyed Sponsor

We worry and fret over the origins and amounts of campaign contributions in our elections. There seems to be a logical connection between who makes a contribution to a certain candidate as an indicator to the candidate’s likely voting proclivity once the candidate becomes an officeholder.

Most recently in Texas, the attention was paid to Speaker Dennis Bonnen’s apparent quid pro quo offering in a recorded conversation earlier this year. Bonnen’s self-created public relations disaster essentially forced him to declare that he would not run for re-election.

But all is okay, he has over $3 million available from his “Texas Leads” PAC to ensure that Bonnen clone candidates win state representative offices and that his selectee becomes the next speaker.

Sadly, there is another political kabuki theater playing in selected state theaters near you. That is, the financing of leftist candidates for states attorney’s general and district attorneys.

What is the importance for these elections? The enforcement of law.

Time and time again we have seen leftist, Democrat-appointed federal judges sought out by Democrats to rule in frivolous lawsuits against the Trump Administration, thus hobbling and delaying the implementation of Executive Branch polices. One example of these impediments is the hampering of border control measures. This is an abuse of the Judicial Branch.

But there is another way to subvert state law, federal law, and the US Constitution. There is a saying that “failing to enforce the law is worse than having no law at all” because it generates disrespect for all law. What if our state attorneys-general and our local district attorneys deliberately failed to prosecute cases that were clearly indictable and winnable at trial? That would wreak havoc in our country because no-one could trust the judicial system. That means no-one could trust being protected under the law.

That is anarchy.

Who would want to do that to America?

George Soros put hundreds of thousands of dollars into to Virginia prosecutor Democrat Primaries to replace current Democrats that were not left enough. Soros PAC-backed candidates won their primaries in Arlington and Fairfax by vastly outspending their less radical opponents.

Marina Medvin wrote in Townhall: “The result of hand-picking prosecutors is the most direct way of effectuating change. Prosecutors choose who to prosecute, which crimes to prosecute.

She is exactly right.

All the while Members of Congress are scrutinized to the nth degree, Soros and other Leftists are doing an end run around those stodgy Congressmen and the tedious process of getting legislation passed. Think about that for a moment.

What should one think if our Texas Rangers investigated what they knew was a crime, but the District Attorney refused to present it to a grand jury? It may indeed be the DA’s prerogative, but a valid case brought to a DA should more than likely at least be considered by a grand jury.

Soros’ other goals are to rigorously enforce questionable, subjective crimes such as “hate laws”. This might strike one as prosecuting a thought. How is that possible?

Americans and Texans must be ever-vigilant to guard against the sinister forces moving money around to undermine the rule of law, and in the Texas House, the corruption of the legislative process.
